To the best of my knowledge this \u2018epiphany of symbols\u2019 within this famous icon \u00a0have not been noted before.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_511\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-511\" style=\"width: 209px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-511 size-medium-something\" src=\"http:\/\/www.elenisicons.co.uk\/ei\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/unitrin-diag-209x260.jpg\" alt=\"diagram\" width=\"209\" height=\"260\" style=\"border: 1px solid black;\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.elenisicons.co.uk\/ei\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/unitrin-diag-209x260.jpg 209w, http:\/\/www.elenisicons.co.uk\/ei\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/unitrin-diag-241x300.jpg 241w, http:\/\/www.elenisicons.co.uk\/ei\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/unitrin-diag-260x324.jpg 260w, http:\/\/www.elenisicons.co.uk\/ei\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/unitrin-diag.jpg 616w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 209px) 100vw, 209px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-511\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Diagram: the Star of David (blue), Three crosses &#8211; Slavic, Greek and Latin (yellow) and the Islamic crescent (green) within a universal circle (red).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>There are also three types of Cross that can be seen in this image and which represent the main Christian denominations; the Latin Cross of the West, The Russian Orthodox Cross (but without the angled foot bar) and the equal-armed Greek Orthodox Cross.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose and function of revealing these symbols was to emphasise the message of universal spiritual unity, tolerance and a co-dependence borne of\u00a0 a shared spiritual ancestry\u00a0 &#8211;\u00a0 all of which could be argued to conform to the essence of Rublev\u2019s vision.
