Helen undertakes commissions from clients worldwide for icons depicting favourite images of Christ, the Virgin Theotokos, Angels and many different Greek, Russian and British saints, Feasts etc.

Icons can also be ordered for Baptismal, Wedding, Ordination, Anniversary and Memorial gifts – please allow several weeks for delivery.

Icons are priced according to size, materials (see Options below) and complexity.

Price example: Icon painted on a small, flat panel (20 x 15 cm/ 8” x 6” inches) approx £175.

In seeking to continue the long tradition of icon painting, Helen only works in egg tempera and prepares all the panels with gesso and bole grounds. All the icons are varnished and ready to hang.

• 23ct Gold Leaf (haloes and backgrounds etc):
  • burnished water gilding
  • matt mordant gilding
• Panel Material:
  • Seasoned natural wood (lime, oak etc) with the traditional recessed/rebated section (Rus: kovtcheg), braced and linen-lined.
  • Flat, seasoned natural wood, braced and linen-lined.
  • 3cm thick MDF panel, flat or recessed.
• Size:
  • Minimum 15 x 10cm (6” x 4” inches)
  • Maximum 61 x 91.5 cm (24” x 36” inches)
• Panel Style
  • Single panel, flat or with recessed centre
  • Diptych (two hinged panels - folding like a book)
  • Triptych (three hinged panels - two, narrower outer panels folding over central panel)
